Virus isolates, clinical or tissue samples
Sequencing reaction
Virus containing suspension prepared from clinical or tissue samples; virus isolates after multiplication in chicken embryos or cell cultures under laboratory circumstances (+5±3) °C
Approval of the serotype in the situation of a repeated outbreak
EDTA stabilised blood, pathological material, animal tissues (ruminant), virus RNA released
Sequencing reaction
Parenhimatose organs, fresh or fresh-frozen, small animals or aborted fetus, all corpse, EDTA blood (not less than 3 ml), +5±3 °C.
Organs should be packaged separately in densely enclosed containers, Petri plates and waterproof packaging. Samples from one animal should be placed in additional packaging.
Differentiation of the 5 most common serotypes
